Kelly Eroglu Reduce Grub Money Blogger

All about… Reduced Grub

It’s easy to think money blogs are all about ISAs and pound shops – but there are a huge variety of bloggers in the UK Money Bloggers community, with a fair few frugal foodies, including Kelly Eroglu from Reduced Grub. We spoke to mum of two Kelly:

Tell us about your blog.

Reduced grub is an easy to follow blog, showing people how to eat like a king for a really low price. I would like to show people that being on a low budget does not mean that you have to eat a low quality diet. Healthy ideas, shopping bargains and reduction times are shared, as well as easy to follow recipe ideas.

Why do you write about money?

I write about saving money and being savvy as I feel that the supermarkets can be extremely misleading with both their products and offers, and if this can help one or one hundred people, then I consider that to be a job well done. Often, many people feel that cooking from scratch can be both expensive and time consuming, so I would also like to break that myth.

How did you start blogging?

I started blogging after I followed a friend (who makes the most amazing cakes) with a great blog  called “The Culinary Jumble”. I fly for a living, and after 20 years of “tea or coffee, chicken or beef”, I decided to do something that I love, which is cooking and saving money. So after some pointers from my friend, I started posting money saving recipes three months ago and it took off.

What’s your most popular post you’ve written, and why?

My most popular post has been “The stuffed, stuffed Seabass” for £1 per serving. This recipe was featured in Good Housekeeping and has been one of the best moments so far.

What’s your favourite post you’ve written, and why?

My favourite post has got to be my chicken kebabs for 50p per serving. They are super simple, healthy and really tasty.

Low fat, healthy chicken kebabs for 4……£2.

What’s your number one money tip?

My best money tip would be get organised and find out when your local supermarket starts their reductions, any shop assistant will tell you (just ask a friendly looking one!!!).

What’s your top blogging tip?

My best blogging tip would be to DO SOMETHING THAT YOU ENJOY!!!!

Why are you part of UK Money Bloggers?

I am so pleased to be part of UK Money Bloggers because firstly you’re mixing with other like minded people, and secondly there are some extremely talented people that you can not only learn from, but also you’re able to pick up some great hints and tips that can help you in your own blogging role.

Who are your three favourite UK Money Bloggers?

Mrs Mummypenny as that name is the mutz nutz.
From Aldi to Harrods as I feel it is so honest and sharing to show her monthly income (not many people would do that, you rock!!!).
Thrifty Lesley as her tomato flavoured sparkling water rolls looked lovely.
