UKMB Profile – Everyday Freebies And More

Tell us about your blog.

My blog is all about living frugally, saving and making money where I can in order to afford new things for our home, plan our wedding and hopefully a nice honeymoon.

Why do you write about money?

I have always quite enjoyed taking part in surveys and the like and saving money. I also quite like receiving freebies and found that others were interested in finding out how I managed to be successful and get so much so decided I would share it all in a blog.

How did you start blogging?

I started out with just an instagram page – @everydayfreebiesandmore and was amazed by its popularity so decided to increase my reach by starting a blog dedicated to all the freebies that I receive and sharing my tips on saving money. It’s also a bit of a freedom as I can write the occasional lifestyle post if I feel like it is appropriate.

What’s your most popular post and why?

My most popular post is actually a review on the JML Flawless Brows that I received as a product test, I’m not quite sure why it’s as popular as it seems to be to be honest but it seems to get almost daily views from search engines and actually sits third when you search for a review on the Bing search engine.

What is a product / service you are happy to pay the extra for?

I’ve recently signed up to a subscription box called Buckt – it’s £12.50 each per month but this provides you with tickets to 5 different activities in your local area. I’ve had my first box so far and it was amazing so I will definitely be continuing with it.

Tell us something about yourself.

I have recently moved to Manchester after living in Lincoln for the past 8 years.

What’s your favourite post you’ve written, and why?

This is a tricky one and I’d probably have to cheat on here and say that my favourite set of posts was taking part in Blogmas 2018. It was my first ‘blog event’ as such and I actually really enjoyed writing a post everyday and covering loads of different subjects. I feel that it was received really well by my readers as well and my audience grew ten fold because of the regular posting.

What’s your top blogging tip?

Blog for yourself, I really enjoy blogging at the moment because I’m writing about things that I’m passionate about. A few months ago I was trying desperately to fit into specific niche and had run out of ideas so felt writing was a chore. Now I’m more relaxed about my content and just write what feels right and it seems to be going down well with readers too.

Why are you part of UK Money Bloggers?

I love learning about new and different ways to save money and being in a community that shares these tips with each other is amazing! Having a fab community to share posts, receive feedback and learn new things is amazing and I wish I’d joined sooner!

Who are your three favourite UK Money Bloggers?

And now…some quickfire questions
What’s your number one money tip?

Write a shopping list before you go shopping and don’t go to the shop hungry as you’ll end up spending loads buying food you don’t need.

What is the best bargain you have ever bought?

The other day I got a loaf of warburtons bread for 5p.. I also recently managed to get the Shark Duo Clean hoover for just 85p after saving up vouchers from surveys – it should originally cost £400 but it was down to £199 and I had almost £200 in vouchers.

And finally…where can we find you on social media?
