Tell us about your blog.

Savings 4 Savvy Mums is a parenting based blog that offers money saving tips, tricks and bargain deals, with a dash of parenting advice thrown in. As well as our blogs, we have a growing community of penny pinching parents who like a good bargain, and who share their own tips within our Facebook group.

Why do you write about money?

Because I love saving and making it! I never realised how much money I could save by just looking at coupons sites and down branding. I also love making money whilst sat at home watching TV. Win!

How did you start blogging?

I’m a freelance writer, and stumbled into blogging when I realised my portfolio could do with a good going over. My personal blog has been running a year, and is more successful than I ever thought possible. Saving money just doesn’t fit in with it, so when a friend mentioned she wanted to start a blog, we came up with Savings 4 Savvy Mums.

What’s your most popular post and why?

It’s between “How to Cut Your Family Food Bill in Half” and “How to Make Cash as a Stay at Home Parent.” I think they were popular just because everyone wants to find away to spend less on food they mainly throw away (especially if you have young kids) and making money from home is something most mums want to do, but just can’t work out how to start.

What’s your favourite post you’ve written, and why?

Pregnancy Deals: All You’ll need to Know.” My youngest is two now, but I would have given anything to have an article like this to point me in the right direction of where I could save money. Being a parent, you think you need to spend loads to get the best, but as this blog post shows, you really don’t have the flash the cash to buy the best stuff.

What’s your number one money tip?

Down brand. Saved me £60 a week and no one in my house even noticed! I started right at the bottom, with the basic ranges, and if we didn’t like them, then moved on to the next cheapest range, etc. Worked like a charm.

What’s your top blogging tip?

Find your community. Blogging has brought me so many new friends that I would never have met otherwise.  Most I haven’t met face to face, but a handful I have and they have been amazing. Blogging has such a supportive community feel, regardless of if you want to monetise or not.

Why are you part of UK Money Bloggers?

For the community and the advice. I love reading blogs anyway, especially by those in my niche, and UK Money Bloggers brings everyone together and offers some great ideas where we can all save a bit. What’s not to like?

Who are your three favourite UK Money Bloggers?

This is a hard one and depends on the time of year! At the moment, as it’s February, it’s: Skint Dad, Latest Deals and Maflingo.
