SHOMOS 2020 Shortlists revealed!

Which bloggers are in with a chance of winning a SHOMO award?

The SHOMOs are the UK Money Bloggers’s community annual awards, with the first ceremony taking place in 2015.

Like many other events over the last 12 months, the 2020 #SHOMOs awards were hit by the pandemic. Originally the winners were to be revealed at the annual Show Me The Money Bloggers conference in September 2020, then at the rearranged event in March 2021. Sadly lockdown restrictions meant neither could take place.

So we’ve made the decision to take it online, and will announce all the winners in late March 2021. But to get winners, you also need the finalists!

How the shortlists were decided

As always, anyone could nominate their favourite content – from blogs to podcasts to YouTube to social media. It didn’t matter how many nominations a blogger received, they needed just one to make the longlist.

Once a few ineligible nominees were removed, the longlists were shared with members of the community – who all got to vote for their top six in each category. This was a very different approach to shortlisting to normal – dictated by the pressures of lockdown. For the 2021 awards we hope to return to a panel-led process.
