Tell us about your blog.
Broke Girl in the City is about how to live a great life in the city on a budget.
Why do you write about money?
I have been quite rubbish with money over the years. I amassed a lot of debt and wanted to share both the lessons I learned as well as top tips on personal finance and saving money.
How did you start blogging?
I was made redundant a few years ago I thought I would share my stories on how to lead a great lifestyle when broke. I had meant to start a blog many years ago and talked myself out of it as I thought it was too late to start. It’s never too late.
What’s your most popular post and why?
My most popular post is:
https://brokegirlinthecity.com/mothers-day-2019/
I nearly didn’t post this as I didn’t think it had enough content. My most popular section is about budgeting but also the ones about mental health are popular and something I feel is very important too.
What’s your favourite post you’ve written, and why?
My favourite post is:
https://brokegirlinthecity.com/world-narcissistic-abuse-awareness-day-2019/
I am a very big believer in supporting other women (and men) by raising awareness of such an important topic. Financial abuse if very prevalent and so I write about this every year.
What’s your top blogging tip?
Keep going! It’s easy to get disheartened but just touch your blog little and often. Even If it’s to make tweaks here and there but keep writing.
Why are you part of UK Money Bloggers?
I joined UK Money Bloggers as soon as I found out about the group, which was one of the best things I have done. I have met an incredibly supportive and inspiring group of people, who will always respond with tips to support and help each other.
